    DirecTV Baseball Package....

I was just wondering about this for next year and was wondering what you guys thought.

The MLB Extra Innings Package is $160 ($39.95 paid in 4 installments).

You can purchase the SPORTS Pack with the following channels for $11 per month:

    ESPNU
    College Sports TV
    NBATV
    GOL TV
    The Outdoor Network
    Fuel TV
    Fox Soccer Network

    Altitude Sports & Entertainment
    Comcast SportsNet (Chicago)
    Comcast SportsNet (Mid-Atlantic)
    Comcast SportsNet (West)
    FSN ARIZONA
    FSN BAY AREA
    FSN CINCINNATI
    FSN DETROIT
    FSN FLORIDA
    FSN MIDWEST
    FSN NEW ENGLAND
    FSN NEW YORK
    FSN NORTH
    FSN NORTHWEST
    FSN OHIO
    FSN PITTSBURGH
    FSN ROCKY MOUNTAIN
    FSN SOUTH
    FSN SOUTHWEST
    FSN WEST
    FSN WEST 2
    Madison Square Garden (MSG)
    New England Sports Network
    Sun Sports
    YES Network

Anyway my question is would I be better off getting the SPORTS Pack next year since most of the channels above carry the baseball games and the baseball season is 6 months which would run me about $66.

Anybody have the SPORTS Pack and know how many baseball games are on during the normal night?

    Re: DirecTV Baseball Package....

I've had both...and to me the Sports Pack is the better deal. I'd say on average you'll see 4-6 baseball games/night, as well as having access to ESPNU which is great if your a college fan and where you'll see the lower echelon of the college football games being broadcast that day. The good thing about the Baseball package for me is that I'm able to watch the Yankees while in Florida due to the YES network blackouts. The same will hold true for Mets fans once their network gets up and running in which they will blackout the broadcasts on their flagship station except to those in the Tri-State area.

Well the main reason I got the baseball package is because I'm a huge baseball fan, but especially the Braves. I know on TBS I can see about 1/2 of the games, but the rest of their games come on FoxSports South and Turner South. Turner South is not available north of North Carolina which knocks me out because I live 8 miles past the NC line.

FoxSport South is part of the SPORTS Pack, but I know tomorrow night the Braves game is on Turner South and Fox Sports Southwest 2. I would still be able to watch the game if I had the SPORTS Pack instead of the MLB Extra Innings and it would be cheaper. I just wonder how many times the games come on Turner South and don't come on one of the SPORTS Pack channels.

ESPNU would be great to catch some of the college stuff especially the Hokies. I could pay for a year a the SPORTS Pack cheaper than the MLB extra innings.

When\Why does the YES network blackout games in Florida?
