Let me just start by saying I hate the Yanks and most players on their team. The next thing I notice is the two people that strongly agree with Giambi being Comeback Player of the Year have Red Sox avatars in their profile. So their opinions really are skewed if you ask me, and that is silly.

So me being a Red Sox fan invalidates my opinion on anything involving the Yankees?

That uncertainty should be enough to keep the award out of his hands IMO.

I completely disagree. You shouldn't do anything based an uncertainties or assumptions.

Maybe not, but for the average fan this is enough:

1) Giambi had health problems
2) Steroids cause health problems
3) Giambi used steroids
Conclusion: Giambi's health problems were due to steroid use

Then again the average fan won't recognize the accomplishments of the other names on that list so will vote for Giambi by default.

That is false, and that's the problem. They were talking about it on OTL, the medical reports that showed Giambi's other health issues had absolutely nothing to do with steriods.

I don't know how much they fact the mental side of a comeback with this award, but that is a great point. This man was getting the worst of boos at every ballpark, even his own. When you feel like you aren't even wanted by your own team, that's got to have some kind of effect on your psyche.

He should still be booed unmercifully whereever he goes. He's a joke and has contributed to making the game of baseball look like a joke. Any award that acknowleges his steroid use should not be given to him. I don't really care who gets the award (who can tell me the comeback player of the year in 1987 off the top of their head?!), but I wouldn't give it to Giambi.

The difference IMO is that he came clean. He admitted he was wrong, and has moved on. Look at the rest of them. They will deny until they're 6 feet under, or in Palmeiro's case...denied, got caught and then basically will be forced off the face of the earth.

His comeback was in no way aided by the help of steroids, I don't believe and I think he should definitely be considered for the award. However, I wouldn't be shocked or upset if Sexson or someone else won it.

Giambi has never once said "I did steroids." And let's face it, he got caught first anyways, not exactly "coming clean." I'd love to throw him out of baseball with all of the roidheads but the Commissioner isn't that powerful and legally none of them can be tossed.

And before anyone asks, yes I'd say the same thing about a Manny Ramirez or David Ortiz if they were proven steroid users.

No it isn't, It's BS now tho as this is the first year it's being voted on by the fans.

Here's a point that Ken Rosenthal made last night on RSN. Giambi may deserve the award but who is to say that he ISN'T taking HGH like he was before?

That's just food for thought. I can't indict the guy based on suspicions so sadly I have to say he may deserve the award after all.
