Sean Casey Taken Off Field On Stretcher

Just saw this on ESPN in the first game vs Pittsburgh. I believe it was Humberto Cota that was headed to first, and tried to avoid the tag and actually busted Casey across the face (completely accidental). Looked like Cota might have caught Casey's temple with Cota's fist.

I'm sure there will be more later on in the evening about this.

I was wondering what happened (I posted a thread asking about it). Thanks for the head's up.

Yeah I was watching the game when it happened. Early reports are that Casey was knocked unconscious. He's at one of the hospitals in PGH and is fine right now. They said he's just sore and has a headache.

I'm glad he's OK. When he got nailed I thought he could be really messed up.

We have probably seen more ugly colisions at First Base than we have a home plate this season. Good to hear he is ok.

The Mayor should be fine. Whether or not he comes back this year is the question. I doubt he will if he has a grade 2 concussion like they were saying on the radio last night.
