    Why was Matt LeCroy released?

This is one of the moves that doesn't get any press but it's still puzzling.

Even in arbritation he wasn't going to make more than 1.2-1.5 mil.

For a team that struggles to score runs and hit for power like the Twins, this doesn't make a lot of sense.

He's a valuable guy off the bench to hit LH pitching or he could have been platooned at DH.

In his last 4 seasons, his SLG against LHP is: .522,.504,.533,.621

I hope the Jays make a run at him.

Maybe because 1.2-1.5 million is way to much to pay for a guy who just comes off the bench to hit lefthanders.

I hope the Jays make a run at him.
Or the 15 other teams you root for.

The guy needs to knock off a few pounds and get a running game in before he gets a starting role anywhere...

          LOL...asianflow, you're one of a kind.

We should start a pool: "What team with Asianflow root for next?"

                Get over yourself.

I would have liked to see what LeCroy could do with a full season's worth of AB's. I think he could have a 30 hr season and hit about 285 or so however as Blzr said he is a liability on the basepaths. I would like to see a LeCroy vs Molina race.

His arm is so terrible when behind the plate that the Twins started the season with 4 catchers.

As previously mentioned, he's slower than slow.

He has exactly zero range when playing first base along with a below average glove.

He can't hit righties, so unless he can get a full season's worth of ab's against lefties...

Its true. All he can do is hit lefties. But he will find a home, probably a team that has a solid payroll.

I would not be surprised if he wound up in Oakland, much of the A's offense was supplied by left handed hitters and LeCroy would give them a decent right handed bat (even if it's only against lefties) as a DH.

The Yankees could use another DH on their roster.
