      He even botched Mike Piazza appreciation day by taking big Mike out before his final at bat.

        They have some of the best talent in baseball but they do not mesh together well to make a team. They just are a group of guys that fill up roster spots and until somebody realizes this, there will be repeat failures!

        As far as Mel is concerned, I am glad he is gone. I never felt he had any impact on pitchers through his tenure.
