    Congrats to Larry Walker

Easily the greatest Canadian position player to ever play in MLB.

I'll always remember him as an Expo.

Hopefully he has a change of heart and decides to play for Canada next March and one final season with the Jays as the DH.

If not I toast Walker with a Molson!

His best chance to win the World Series was probably the strike season with the Expos...

I think Asian's lived everywhere there was a good team or a good player...has rooted for every winning team...

So I'm sure he's from Canada because he's rooting for LW

My friend, there's only one player who can hold that distinction...

              BWHAHA wow.

As for Walker, I think his best chance was with the Expos. I mean, everyone knew the BoSox were going to beat the Cards.

Larry Walker was a hell of a player. It's too bad that injuries slowed him down by the end of it all. I, too hope that he has a change of heart and plays a season in Toronto.

At least he's committed to the baseball classic from all i've heard.

he better enjoy the "greatest canadian position status" for as long as he can because I think Jason Bay will catch up to him.

Larry Walker was about one thing , and one thing only : Larry Walker.
And about him playing another season for the Blue Jays : as soon as he signed with Colorado, Walker said that he was glad to get out of Canada , because he couldn't find his brand of Doritos.
                    Oh yeah , I'll miss him ...

LOL. I always though Larry was a brilliantly talented player, but after watching him close-up in Colorado for a decade, I'd wholeheartedly agree that he was also a selfish one.

Walker was the smartest base-runner I've ever seen, and played right field as well as anyone ever has.

But he was always injured, and these injuries always seemed to pop up after his team had no real chance of postseason success (which in Colorado, was once). He was always slow to rehab, reluctant to follow team doctors, and generally had "Penny Hardaway" syndrome - he played when he damn well felt like it.

All of a sudden, at almost forty years old, he got generally healthy for the Cardinals and played reasonably well. Again, this wasn't surprising - his team had a chance to win.

I understand that it's difficult to maintain interest during a losing season, but true professionals find a way to do it. Walker always had respect in the Colorado clubhouse, but he wasn't really liked, like a Vinny Castilla or a Todd Helton, because his teammates knew they couldn't count on him to stand with them through thick and thin.

When Colorado traded him to St. Louis, neither Rockies players nor fans shed a tear.
I'll always remember him as a bit of a wasted opportunity - a luminous player who could have done so much more had he bothered to do so.

He isn't Canadian, but he probably grew up in Canada. He lives in Vancouver so keep that in mind.

He still missed a nice chunk of time in STL for being genuinely healthy.

He played the 4th lowest amount of games in his career (not counting 1989) this season with 100, so I wouldn't say he got genuinely healthy once he arrived in STL.
