    Boomer wants out

David Wells has asked to be traded to finsh his career on the west coast and the BoSox are going to try to accomadate him. Hopefully we can a little in return, he's still proved to be a big game pitcher down the strecth for us.

    News
Red Sox pitcher David Wells plans to pitch in 2006, but he doesn't want it to be for his current club. Wells has informed the Red Sox that he prefers to finish his career on the West Coast, the Boston Globe reported. The Red Sox will attempt to honor Wells' request. He is guaranteed $2.5 million in 2006.

    Views
Some team who is digging for a veteran guy to fill out their 2006 rotation will likely come calling this winter. Wells can still be a decent, back-end fantasy starting pitcher at this point in his career, but we'll have to see where he lands before determining his value for next season.

Now the Papelbon situation gets a little bit easier to handle

Just don't send his FAT-*** to the White Sox. That bastard had 9 solid years for the last 10 years and the lone year he didn't do good was when he was with the White Sox in 2001. That's why the victory against the Red Sox in game 2 was soooo fulfilling.

Is Chicago West Coast? Didn't think so. Problem solved.

I hope he goes far far West. Like China.

More likely the Padres. The Dodgers shouldn't be going after really old veterans with the team they have.

should and shouldn't doesn't really matter when it comes down to it, does it? The teams will decide what they want to do based on anything, even whims.

My question to you since you're thinking the Padres is this:

Why would the Padres want him when he didn't really work out in his "Return home" the first time?

The Dodgers have made stupid decisions before, and I would not be suprised in the least if they made one more.

Didn't really work? Behind Peavy in 2004 he was the Padres best starter. He pitched better than his record indicated (thanks to this abysmal offense). I was really pissed off when Wells wasn't resigned, but then again, that's what happens to each of Kevin Towers's supposed "number 1 priority". Plus, he didn't leave because the Padres didn't want him, it's because his wife got in the talks... I don't know how... and she managed to break the talks with Towers and Wells. I really don't know what "didn't really work", but I guess since nothings taken serious about San Diego.

I'd still take Wells over Woody Williams. Although if he was on the 2005 team it wouldn't matter because there's still no offense in San Diego.
