I guess maybe they could bring Bill Walton on board as a guest analyst. But short of that....when does another network get the rights?

Could the Fox telecast be any worse?
While watching the game last night, I asked myself....could the Fox telecast be any worse? Buck and McCarver are horrible. I didn't think it was possible for anyone to be as annoying as McCarver, but Buck is rocketing towards that territory in a hurry. Scooter is horrible. Last night he broke down the fastball. Are you kidding me? FoxTrax, as noted in another thread, is overused and generally annoying. 5" break? What do I care about that? Keep it simple like ESPN's version. Dugout interviews during the game (XFL, anyone?) that are distracting from the live action and that the managers and coaches hate....it really just couldn't be any worse. Could it? Not to mention that everything significant that happens during the game is accompanied by some annoying graphic and either a whooshing, buzzing, or beeping sound.

This is why I love RSN here in Canada. We have the MLB International feed of the game.
BTW on the dugout interviews, you can't really blame FOX for that since ESPN did it all this season as well. In fact I think it's some new fangled initiative from MLB as the Blue Jays telecasts did the same things. They even had a "wednesday with JP" interview during games near the end of the season.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Only thing I dont like is Buck and Mcarver. They were much better when Lou Pinella(sp?) was in the booth with them in the ALCS. Without him, they are the equivilent of Madden and Summerall in old school Madden games.
As for the FoxTrax, I can dig it. Its no diffrent than what you get in most video games. I dont care if they show it often, sometimes you wanna know where a pitch was located to assure yourself that your eyes are'nt fooling you. It also proves that a Umps strike zone is erratic.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Could the Fox telecast be any worse?
Was it just me or did it seem like Joe Buck was bitching about the length of the game last night? Like it or not thats his job and it happens to be the WS. Fox doesnt need him to put this negative slant on it. Do you think the announcers were droning on about this in 1975s game 6? I really doubt it. In any case, Joe needs to learn its not about him. He is not a moral conscience or anything like that. All he has to do is describe whats happening without infusing his own personal beliefs into it and its obvious he can no longer do that (remember the Randy Moss fake mooning?). Joe must go!Comment
