The amphetamine testing is going to make things very interesting. A lot of people in baseball have said "be careful what you wish for" in terms of implementing amphetamine testing. Many players rely on them to get through a season. I'm guessing we'll see a drop in statistics this year, and depth could be more important than ever. I wouldn't be surprised to see a huge drop off in stats in August and September.
I think what it will end up forcing is a lifestyle change by a lot of the players. We all know these guys go out partying every night after games when they're on the road. A guy like Johnny Damon isn't going to be able to party every night, play hurt like he does and still be effective without amphetamines.
