    New Busch Stadium

Just in case anyone was interested, here is a pretty good site following the demolition of Busch Stadium II, and the construction of Busch Stadium III. It is so surreal to see the stadium come down like this, but I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product next year.

I'm not even a Cardinal fan and it made me kind of sad. You fans must feel like you're losing an old friend.

Totally. The part that makes it so hard is the way they are taking it down. I was looking forward to an implosion and it getting over quick. But watching them take it down like this is painful.

That's rough. I'm not a Cardinal fan, but I hate to see Busch stadium go. Any reason why they're not doing an implosion?

By the time the season was over, so much progress had been made on the section nearest the stadium that they feared the implosion would damage the new stadium. They had already raffled off tickets to be the person to "press the button" for the implosion, but it just came at the last minute that they decided they'd be going with the wrecking ball. I am amazed at how fast they are taking down the stadium because the earliest reports said they would not have it completely cleared until June of next year.

Thought I'd bump this thread as there has been quite a bit of progress on Busch III. Click the link for the most recent pics.

Well all I can say is now you know how us Cincinnati sports fans felt when they tore down Riverfront, Pittsburgh when they did the same to Three Rivers, and Philly fans with the Vet. Welcome to the club! New ballpark looks great, by the way.

                      Wow she looks beautiful!

I like how they kinda went retro with the outside entrance to the park but the inside looks a lot like Busch II. It's kind of a hybrid between retro park and Busch II.

I can't wait to see this park open.
