From what I am hearing teams are giving in too easily to their demands. They want to rid themselves of money, so they don't have all of the leverage.The Mets gave them their #1 pitching prospect, but most "experts" said they could have told them no and worked out something eventually for lesser talent. If they are asking the Cubs for Felix Pie, Hendry better be smart enough to hang up the phone.

I really don't care if we gave up the entire farm system. I've been hearing crap for years about this legendary farm system. And yet I don't see any of these stars coming up.

I'm all for trading guys that may never pan out for proven talent.

Cubs should just trade 'em Corey!

I second that about Patterson! Sorry but he has never been the same since he injured himself a few years back. And even then he was never proven. He had one solid year.

As for the Cubs "amazing" farm system... Well lets just say management doesnt know how to handle the farm system.

On one hand, the Cubs state that their prospects are far too valuable to trade away.

Yet on the other hand, they are so valuable they dont want to risk playing them (Felix Pie) in case they get hurt.

Exactly. It's there, but the pitchers need to stay healthy. I'm really hoping this offseason makes the Cubs the team to beat in the NL.
