I can't see either of those 2 going to play CF, but if I had to pick one at making the transition I would say Jeter because he's slimmer and smaller than Arod. Not to mention probably faster than Arod as well.

That would be one of the biggest disasters in baseball history if that happened.

Jeter would do it, I can't see Arod switching to CF after just switching to 3B for us.

Nobody hates the Yankees more than me, but I think Jeter would make a decent CF. He does a good job of chasing flyballs that get past the infield and he is a good athlete. Thats not a bad idea considering the other options. They can move A-Hole bac.....I mean A-rod back to SS and get a cheap 3rd baseman

I think it's worth a try. Both have speed, good arms and are all around good athletes. I'd rather Jeter do it. Asking Arod to learn another position might be too much, and then they could move him back to short. And while fielding popups as an infielder is a lot different than fly balls as an outfielder, Jeter is very good at it, while it's something that arod struggles at it.

I think it's worth taking a chance at, since I don't see any other real good centerfield option.

It's not happening, and A-Rod isn't great at catching pop ups. He certainly can't play CF.

I agree. If one is willing to do it, go for it. But don't force either of these two stars to do something they don't want to.

The NY media was throwing this idea around all summer.

I also think Jeter would be a very good CF but I would not want to see A-Rod out there though.

Jeter could be good, A-Rod can't even catch pop ups. It's not happening Torre also said Mariano Rivera could play center...

Jeter not playing SS next season? I highly doubt it. The Yankees think of him as an SS god.

I hope to God he is never in pinstripes.

I don't really like the idea of moving either because then who plays 3B?
