Farnsworth to Yanks
ESPN.com is reporting that the agent for Kyle Farnsworth has informed the Braves his client will be signing with the Yankees. On paper, it's a good move but Farnsworth has one year wonder written all over him, in my opinion, he looks like a bust waiting to happen. Still, with Gordon likely out of the picture he's a good pick-up.

Re: Farnsworth to Yanks
I like this move. There's a good chance that Farnsworth will blow up in New York, like many other pitchers have, but I have faith in him. I think he has a chance of being pretty good. He really showed me something with the Braves.
Like...not to put too much stock into him right now, but if he does work out this will be a pretty big signing for the Yanks.
I'm not a Yankee fan, I think that is abuntantly clear, but I do like it when any team makes a good signing. -
Re: Farnsworth to Yanks
I'm loving this move as a Yankee fan... we are deepening our Bullpen, and adding someone with a competitive drive that wants to win even if he's not the most gifted pitcher.
He can be used in between Sturtze and Gordon now...
last couple years Sturtze has been overworked, and he can be too inconsistent to work that often. On the same token, Gordon is too old to pitch in 80 or more appearances... LETS GO FARNSY!!!SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

Re: Farnsworth to Yanks
This is a huge signing, not so much because of the star value and/or very talented but who he's replacing. Scott Proctor, Wayne Franklin, Alan Embree, Felix Rodriguez, Jason Anderson, and Al Leiter. Enough said.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

More likely, he's replacing Tom Gordon.
But hopefully Gordon can't get a closers job and he returns.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Originally posted by elicolemanI wish we would sign Gordon, and not have picked up the option on Sturtze.
Well so much for that idea as it looks like the Phillies signed Flash.

Farnsworth deal should be done tommorow as the Yanks are running out of options.Last edited by nyyanksfan20; 12-01-2005, 11:08 PM.Yankees
