Where do you think the Big Hurt would make the biggest impact?

I honestly think that a young team such as the A's can use whatever power he has left and succeed. They already made a great turn-a-round last year, but didnt have the Oomph to get them in the playoffs. If Thomas stays healthy, which is a 50/50 probability, he can easily produced a 25 HR, 75+ RBIs season.

Which team do you think he can produce with?

    Boston?
    New York?
    Angels?

Oakland. The A's need a right-handed power bat and the only open spot in the lineup is the DH spot, which Thomas would fill well.
In Boston or New York Thomas would be expected to be the Frank Thomas of old and put up "Big Hurt" numbers. The Angels are possible but if they want to take a chance on a injured slugger at the end of his career they can always re-sign Tim Salmon (which they probably will).

In a perfect world i'd want the Jays to take a flier on either Thomas or Piazza in the DH role. Keep in mind tho i'd only give them a 2 year incentive laden contract.

Honestly a team like the A's makes the most sense.

Boston with Lowell at 3rd now and Youkilis and Ortiz at 1B/DH have no room for him.

The Yankees have bigger problems with CF to worry about than signing Thomas.

The Angels outof the three teams you listed makes some sense, but I still think he will end up with the A's.

LOL... actually i was thinking that the O's should take a run at him - he would be good for that park.. but other than that, I can see him landing in Oakland..

He would make a bigger impact for a team that needs a big bat. A team like the Yankees or Red Sox sure he might put up good numbers but he would be more of just one of the guys. A team like the A's he could make a much bigger impact because he would be counted on a whole lot more than he would for the Yanks or Sox.

I would not be suprised to see him in an Angels uniform.
