I only voted for Bert Blyleven and Andre Dawson.. I go back and forth on a few guys like Murphy, Morris and Rice, but they just don't quite make my HOF.

I totally agree with that statement about the best time a tweener guy can make it.
If Goose or Bert don't get in this year, I don't see them ever making it.Comment

Re: Cast your HOF ballot
My list:
Bert Blyleven: 287 wins and he retired 3rd on the all-time strike-out list (currently 5th). His curveball is widely considered the best baseball has ever seen.
Andre Dawson: A great offensive and defensive player who played in relative obscurity for much of the prime of his career. His numbers are too good to ignore.
Dale Murphy: I was never a big Dale Murphy fan, but he should benefit from a weak class. He was a 30/30 guy when it actually meant something and a great defensive outfielder. He should have eclipsed 400 HRs, but he was also a victim of the strike season(s) of '80-'81. Something needs to be said about his two MVP awards as well.
Jim Rice: A dominant player for a 7-year stretch (two of those tarnished by the strike years of '80-'81). He should easily have 400+ HRs and 2500+ hits if not for the strike. If you are a dominant offensive player for that length of time then you should be in the HOF.
Lee Smith: It isn't his fault he was made a closer. All he did was set the all-time saves record.
There are some worthy and some not. There is no way players like Orel Hershiser or Ozzie Guillen should even sniff the HOF. Mattingly is a guy with a bubble career, but in the end he just didn't play long enough and his numbers took a massive nosedive and an early age.Comment
