    Arbitration

I thought i would start a thread for the players who are/not offered arbitration, this way the transaction page can stay for signings and trades and not get cluddered up.

    Feel free to add...

The Chicago White Sox decline to offer arbitration to DH Frank Thomas OF Carl Everett and C Raul Casanova

The Houston Astros decline to offer arbitration to P Roger Clemens and IF Jose Vizcaino

The Los Angeles Angels decline to offer arbitration to P's Jarrod Washburn and Jason Christiansen C Bengie Molina and IF Lou Merloni

The Braves are looking for a veteran to play behind Francouer, Johnson and Langerhans and provide a little pop off the bench, expect Jordan to sign a minor league contract with an invite to training camp.

"The Rangers have announced that they will not offer arbitration to Kenny
Rogers or to any of their other five unsigned free agents, meaning none can
sign a big league deal with Texas before May. The other five are Sandy
Alomar Jr., Doug Brocail, Richard Hidalgo, Steve Karsay, and Greg Colbrunn."

A little offtopic but DAMN I didn't know Doug Brocail was still around.

Alomar and Colbrunn's careers are basically over. Hidalgo, Brocail and Karsay will likely land with new teams and there was mention about Rogers either going back to the Twins or possibly heading to Washington.

"T.R. Sullivan of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports not only that Texas
will not offer arbitration to Kenny Rogers by tonight's deadline, but also
that Scott Boras indicates that Rogers's contract prohibits Texas from
offering him arbitration even if it wanted to. As a result, the Rangers
will not receive two compensatory picks in next summer's draft -- unless
another team signs Rogers before 11 p.m. tonight -- and Rogers is not
eligible to sign with Texas before May 1. Boras indicates that Rogers, age
41, will get a three-year deal from some team, possibly San Diego or
                    Cleveland or St. Louis.
                    "

once again, interesting tidbit from Newberg.

Those teams would be crazy to offer Kenny that kind of contract. The most i'd give him is a 1 year deal with a club option on a 2nd year.

The only one of those 3 teams I can see POSSIBLY making the offer Boras is talking about would be STL since they've been so close to a WS the last two seasons.
