I'm not impressed whatsoever. I really don't see the future in Niekro and signing Sweeney who isn't solid with the glove nor the bat... ehh both of them are going to have to grow on me. Snow and Overbay were much better choices for this championship or bust season.

Sweeney is one of the best pinch-hitters in all of Baseball, maybe the Giants are hoping he can be the second coming of John Vander Wal.

Don't pencil Neikro in at 1B just yet. If Barry Bonds and Moises Alou stay healthy and the Giants are unable to trade Edgardo Alfonzo than we are more likely to see Pedro Feliz at First Base than Neikro.

Well there still is a chance. The Dodgers and Padres have offers on the table. I really just hope he retires so I won't have to watch him sticking it to the Giants
