The disgusting part is that the Marlins were talented enough for a World Series. This team already looks like the 1998 team, you know the one that traded practically every player from their World Series team from 97.

the worst thing is that the heads of the MLB allow for this to happen.. i wonder what would happen if a real commish was in office - maybe someone like a Giamanti.. & from what I hear too is that while not a major player he once was, Conine may be gone too (back to the O's).. -

Yup. Despite all that's happened 2 WS in 8 yrs is good enough for me. Some teams still haven't won a WS!President of the Devils Den

dont want to get into a detailed post but when you own a team and lose around 20-40 million a year, you have to do something to cut your losses.. after all it is a business and no business man wants to lose that much money, ever. payroll was to high, so they had to deal the expenisve guys..
burnett and encarnacion were FA and were going to leave anyway.. Hermida was going to start in RF no matter what next year, and Burnett was going to price himself out of the marlins range.Comment

It seems pretty obvious to me that they are preparing for the future of their club here. If that means that they have to make some big and difficult moves before they do that, then that's just too bad.
It's better that the owners have the money to move the team and pay the bills in 3 years than for them to lose the team entirely.Comment

I'm not quite sure why, but I have an irrational hatred for Villone. There's just some players who when you see, you'd like to club with a lead pipe. Villone is one of mine. It may be because he beaned Justin Morneau in the head last year while Morneau was on my roto-team. I look forward to disliking Villone and his goofy moustache even more for NY.Comment
