Re: A-Rod...
Not surprising really, just the usual soul-less, ghoulish PR comments that come from the mouth of Rodriguez. The guy has never said anything genuine, ever.Comment

I dont see it as a big deal. Some guys want to represent their countries and others want to relax with their wives and kids before having to play 170+ games. Not a big deal.

You see a guy who is the highest paid player in all of sports, plays for the most hated franchise in all of sports, and you automatically see a guy who is a jerk.Last edited by bender_over; 12-18-2005, 02:18 PM.Minnesota Vikings

"When faced with the decision to choose between my country, the United States of America, and my Dominican heritage, I decided I will not dishonor either," Rodriguez was quoted as saying in Friday's editions of the New York Post.Comment

Re: A-Rod...
I heard about it a couple days ago and wasn't the least bit surprised.
It's amazing to me that he would want to play for the DR. Heritage aside, he was born in NY. He's made millions upon millions here in America, but was still considering playing for another team.
Now before someone starts talking about other players making millions in America but still playing for other countries, it's a different situation. Seeing as all the others (I don't know for a certain fact, but it would stand to reason) were actually born in that respective country.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. We’re talking about on the biggest stage, in New York, playing out of position and asked to hit fourth for the New York Yankees. I mean, that’s never been done.” - Sheffield on SheffieldComment
