Baseball Related Questions
I'm not sure if this goes here, but if it doesnt I apologize. I've got a few questions I want to ask. First, when a club " non-tenders " a player, what does that mean?. Does that mean they basically release them?. Also, I noticed that the Angels only have four starting pitchers, that I'm aware of: Colon, Santana, Lackey and Escobar. This may sound stupid, but any idea where there fifth guy comes from?. Do they plan on signing someone, calling someone up?. I'm curious because I update my rosters for MVP manualing and I'd like to know, since they lost Washburn to free agency. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.Tags: None -
Re: Baseball Related Questions
Lets start with the non-tender question: when a team tenders a contract to player the team holds exclusive negotiating rights to re-sign the player or go to an arbitration hearing. by non-tendering a player the team releases that player and is free to negotiate with any team including his former team (unlike when a player is not offered arbitration and can not negotiate with his former team until may 1st).
As for the Angels: they currently do not have a set 5th starter, there is talk that they are interested free agents Joe Mays, Jose Lima and Shawn Chacon. Possibilities from inside the organization include Joe Saunders. Chris Bootcheck and Kevin Gregg. -
