Jays would have to deal Hillenbrand or Hinske if a deal for Glaus goes through.

I'll miss O-Dogg. I'm telling you that guy is poised to be one of the best 2B in MLB for the next ten years.

            Great deal!

We got what we needed. A power hitter in Glaus. Now our lineup looks great!

              He's 28. He's running out of time.

28-35 is considered a baseball player's prime years. He's well on his way to being a dominant 2B maybe not offensively but he's going to have a very good next few years defensively.

Agreed...I think he will probably hit 12-15 HR next year with gold glove defense. However, this is a trade you have to make. Glaus gives us a Paul Konerko presence in the middle of the lineup (if you get the subtle reference).

                    Ha!

10 years?!? Even if he became one of the best 2nd basemen this season, you think he is still going to be "one of the best 2B in MLB" when he is 38? Crazy...

I tend to agree. Arizona will be lucky to get 4-5 good years out of him. Even that is a stretch.

The Jays really aren't playing around this offseason it's almost like they are answering the Yanks signing Damon, while the Red Sox do nothing.

Getting the O-Dogg out of the division certainly isn't a bad thing, he steals a ton of hits, but he is also fun to watch so it's too bad I won't get to see him as much anymore.

The Reds have reportedly had interest in Hillenbrand to back up Adam Dunn at 1B and as insurance incase Edwin Encarnacion struggles at 3B. The Pirates could also get in on one of these players since the only Third Baseman left in free agency is Joe Randa, who could possibly be headed to Baltimore, the Orioles would Melvin Mora to LF, a position Mora has played very well in his career (has a .994 fielding percentage in LF)

                            Exactly.

Probably hit .270, with 10 HRs, and play good defense.

Now the question is, what do the Jays look for in return for Hillenbrand? Do they have the ability to look for another power bat (e.g. Adam Dunn), or does he just bring in a mid-level prospect. I'd have to go with the latter.

No way they get Dunn for Hillenbrand. They would just be looking to get a mid-to-low level prospect, just to dump salary.
