I don't see AJ burnett being worth that much money, and the off-season for them is reminding me of the Mets last year. They add some good players(although I'll take Pedro/Beltran over Glaus/Burnett/Ryan but thats just me) and everyone jumps on their bandwagon, says they're the sleeper team and look what the Mets did. Missed the playoffs.

    I'll go with third, again.
I don't see the relevance with the Mets. That's like saying any team that makes A LOT moves in the offseason is going to turn out like the Mets. Of course, people act as if any move the Yanks or Bosox make is the best move in history. But when struggling teams try to improve by spending some cash, it's deemed as "a risk". Why is there such a double standard?

From talking to Sawx fans, you can tell they are scared though. You add 4 legit players to a team that still won 80 games(a BJ's team that had a plethora of flaws) and the win production should improve from 7-12 wins.

I don't get the criticism either. I mean if the Jays were like the Mets or the Yanks then we'd see aging players being signed. Yeah JP made some risky moves but it's for guys who are heading into the primes of their careers. (with the exception of Glaus who's in the prime years right now) People complain that teams don't strive to win it all then when a team that's been in the doldrums decide to spend money we get complaints from here to eternity.

At this point I think the Jays will finish 2nd. I think they've probably made themselves 10 wins better which would put them over 90. I think either the Yankees or Red Sox will finish 3rd, although I'm not sure which.
