Good move on the Sox part. Everyone thought Garland was going to go to the West Coast after this year. I actually thought it, too. He must have realized we have a good thing going in Chicago.

This is a good signing if the Garland of '05 shows up. If you have the Garland of before then you're grossly overpaying for a back-end rotation guy.

But you only won one World Series... For all we know they could finish last this year, while I'm happy that you're happy the Sox are doing well, I think its a little early to proclaim dynasty.


Serious question for all you White Sox fans, lets say for whatever reason the team goes in the tank, will you all dissapear like all the other seasons when no White Sox fans posted on OS? I'm just curious as to what type of fan base do the Sox have on OS.

There was always a Sox prescense on OS even when they were'nt winning. I remember clearly seeing guys like soltrain, Dice and a few others post for days in Sox threads when we were battling against the Twins a few years ago. I may not post much but I've always followed whatever Sox thread there has been. There have been a number of bandwagon fans but thats expected with any team that wins the series.

I'm not hating, I was just commenting on how your bandwagon fans seem to talk more smack than any group of fans I've ever seen when you are winning, but I never heard from them when you guys were just average.

Well, every "real" Sox fan I know who posts regularly in Sox threads posted in this thread. The bandwagoners wont show up till the season starts.

As for talking smack while we're on top, its mainly a underappreciated thing. I cant speak for everyone but the Chi Sox probably rank the highest for least respected team not just in these forums but in almost every public forum. Especially in this ciity. If you're were'nt a Cubs fan, you were'nt cool.

What group of 'sensible' fans talk smack when there loosing? I myself would never talk smack about the White Sox when they were average because it doesn't make sense.

And you know when a team wins the championship your going to get the bandwagon fans and the true fans who's going to talk smack. Red Soxs fans were all over this board last year talking about the Red Sox like they were the 27 Yankees.
