If this guy can recapture some of that offense, could be a good move. It's a no lose proposition. Maybe he'll push Kaz to finally show up...

Re: Mets Bring Bret Boone in for ST
I found his sudden power spike to be really "interesting".
It has also been reported he had tons of acne all of his back doing the career season.
He's a decent guy though. He did a lot of charity work in Seattle. He cried when he was released from the Mariners. -

2002 - 24 hrs 107 rbis
2003 - 35 hrs 117 rbs
2004 - 24 hrs 83 rbis
then comes the steriod issue
2005 - 7 hrs 37 rbis..
also he was about a .260 + hitter those prior years.. in 2005, just .221
something to me makes me very skeptical about Boone..Comment

Re: Mets Bring Bret Boone in for ST
Boone is done, the Twins needed a 2b last year badly and they even cut him in a few weeks.
Not a bad move though, Omar likes to bring in leftovers for spring training, there is really no risk. Last year he brought in guys like Roberto Hernandez, Chris Woodward, Marlon Anderson, and they seemed to work so why not. I wouldn't be surprised if he brings in Sammy too.Yankees

Re: Mets Bring Bret Boone in for ST
Although he hasn't been stated in this thread, I find it amazing to even think that at one point a couple of years ago the Padres were thinking of signing Kaz Matsui giving Khalil Greene more time in the minors.Comment
