While I don't disagree with the original decision to not let them play, I think this is the right move now that they're donating all profits to Hurricane Katrina relief.

This is a smart move. I was waiting to see how long it would take for them to come around.

I hope this finally begins a trend of more rational and less petty relationships with Cuba.

            Probably not,

MLB had to lobby HAAAARD to get Cuba into this thing.

I'm glad that Cuba is in the WBC now as it lends a little more credibility to the tournament.

I'm very happy- I want this tournament to truly become an international event. Not having Cuba would hurt its legitimacy.

Yeah, seriously. The Cuban team is pretty darn good and omitting them from the whole thing really cheapens it all.

You mean greater ignorance of world politics? The leader of their nation desired to make the Eastern seaboard glow at one point. Or how about when dearest leader cleaned out his prisons by sending his malcontents (rapists, murders, psychos) to the US when we were feeling nice about Cuba. You do realize that it isn't the United States that makes people desire to go across shark infested waters to Florida to get out of Cuba.

I doubt it and not get too political...but I can understand why. (though banning a team from sports is a little ridiculous)
