Remlinger returns to Atlanta...
The Braves have signed Mike Remlinger to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Hopefully he can put the past two injury plagued years behind him and return to the success he had with Atlanta when he was with them from 1999-2002. I have always liked Remlinger because he is a class act and has always been regarded as one of the most likeable pitchers in baseball.Last edited by Kohlstar20; 01-23-2006, 09:28 PM.Tags: None -
Re: Remlinger returns to Atlanta...
He was BAD for the Red Sox last year, he couldn't get anyone out and lefties teed off on him. His fastball had no life on it and his change tended to find the fattest part of the plate. Maybe he can turn it around, but he looked done last year. I thought for sure he would retire.Comment

He was good for us in the past, but since then he's trailed off big time.
Let's hope he can be valuable to our piss-poor bullpen.Comment

Re: Remlinger returns to Atlanta...
John Foster will be the primary lefty out of the Braves bullpen again so whatever Remlinger gives them is a bonus, nothing more.
It's interesting that the 3 oldest left handed relievers in Baseball are all in the N.L. this spring:
Jeff Fassero SF, 43
Terry Mulholland AZ, 43
Mike Remlinger ATL, 40
Wonder what Jesse Orosco is up to these days...Comment
