Dunn signs two year 18.5 million dollar contract.

Good signing IMO. A club option for a third year includign a 500,000 buyout. With Dunn, Pena, and Griffey, if all healthy, that is one powerful outfield. However if Dunn does go to first, who plays Left Field?

This is a good deal for both sides.

If Dunn keeps up his production, I expect the Reds to pick up the 13 mil option.

The OF will be Pena, Griffey, and Kearns.

Too bad the Reds have awful pitching at the big league level and little depth in the farm system. It will be another below .500 season for the Reds.

I don't know if they quite have awful pitching for the big league level. But for GAB? Yes.

The staff had the worst ERA in the NL last season.

Again... Dan O' Brien or whoever the GM is did not have ANY sinkerballers in his starting rotation. He needs some. He gets them (1 through 5, plus relievers), and they will have an advantageous season.

It's only a matter of time for Kearns. He's still only 25 and has been putting up respectable numbers for his age, despite the injuries.

I know the Reds were big on picking up Jake Westbrooke from the Indians but I'm glad we didn't give him up. Although I will say, a sinker like Westy at GAB would be a great thing for the Reds.

From what I've read Kearns for Westbrook was on the table, but the reds GM pulled back. You're right, dumb move by the reds, Westbrook would be a perfect pitcher in Great American

So i guess they didn't bring in any higher intelligence for their FO spot when they fired their GM earlier this offseason....
