Re: Curt Gowdy passed away
I've heard some of his broadcasting when I had the MLB.TV package. That's pretty sad. He was one of the best broadcasters of the 1960s and early '70s.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

A HoF broadcaster. He had a great baseball voice.

Re: Curt Gowdy passed away
RIP, Mr. Curt Gowdy, and thanks for the memories. He was the anouncer for the Red Sox when I was a kid in the early 60's. My brother and I would play wiffle ball in the back yard and try to imitate his voice as we called out each play. I was watching the game with him and my dad when Tony C. hit a homer in his first at bat at Fenway, and I always remember Curt's call of it as much as the homer itself. It's a little goofy I guess, but he actually played a large part in my obtaining a genuine love for the game of baseball.Comment
