How will the NL Central Turn Out

How do you think the Central will finish this year? Here's my picks.

    1 Chicago Cubs

    2 St. Louis Cardinals

    3 Milwalkee Brewers

    4 Houston Astros

    5 Cincinnati Reds

    6 Pitsburg Pirates

I just think that the cards didnt get enough back for what they lost to win again, and Houston is in trouble without The Rocket

    Reds

The Cubs will collapse like they always do... the Astros will be in the top three, and the race for the top will be a lot tighter than most people think it will be. I say Milwaukee will only be like 2 games back at the end of the season. The Brewers will slightly miss the wild card as well.

I agree with Giggas on most accounts, but I'm flipping the Cubs and the Astros around. The Astros just don't have enough offense to get things done this year. I also give the Cubs a slight nod on the starting pitching, but the Astros pretty much have a lights out bullpen. It'll be close, and I could see it go the other way, but if I had to call it today, that would be it.

Cards will win it. I'm hoping that the Brewers are in contention for most of the year as I really like what they've done with that organization. Of course they have 2 canucks running the club

          1. Cards- Its there's to lose. Strong rotation, good bullpen, powerful lineup, good defense and deep bench.

          2. Astros- They played well last year and Pettitte and Oswalt should continue to dominate. This year theyll have Berkman for the whole year and if Clemens rejoins the.. theyll be that much more dangerous.

          3. Brewers- They improved tremendously last year and they have all the makings of an above .500 team: A dominating ace.. strong #2... solid closer... a decent lineup and good defense. Prince Fielder should make a big impact too.

          4. Cubs- Ever year they find some way to underachieve and I put that mostly on Dusty Baker. Other than that... I dont see Wood stating healthy all year especially when he just got his knee scoped. Prior needs to bounce back in a big way. I dont see Lee putting up the same numbers as last year and I DOnt like Demptser closing.

          5. Pirates- Duke should build on last season but the lineup is still weak.

          6. Reds- Just a very bad team IMO.

Don't go sticking the Brewers in that no. 2 spot just yet. Ben Sheets irritated that muscle in his shoulder that he tore last year and he is being examined today to see how serious it is. Without him, the Brewers are back behind the Cubs and Astros. But hopefully, for the sake of seeing what that young team can do, it will be nothing major.

Considering that the Cubs were 21 games behind the Cards last year, I don't think either team has done anything to shrink that gap considerably.

Saying the Reds are "a very bad team" is a bit of a stretch. Yes, their pitching is horrible and that will hinder them but this is a team that will most likely score more runs than any team in the National League, as well as hit the most homeruns. If you got that then you aren't a "very bad team". Maybe a "very bad pitching team" but overall, not that bad.

Although I am a Cubs fan I do not think they will win the division. I think it is going to be the Cardinals once again winning the division title.

                      1. Cards

                      2. Astros

                      3. Cubs

                      4. Brewers

                      5. Reds

                      6. Pirates

The Cards haven't done anything to lose their strangle hold on this division. The Astros will be solid enough and finish 5-10 games back. The Cubs and Brewers were a tough call. Cubs fans everywhere are all jacked up over Juan Pierre and JACQUE JONES, but Wood can't get healthy and Prior has barely began to throw this spring(if he has). The Brewers are the "sexy pick" but I still think they are about a season away.

All this Cubs hype in Illinois is hilarious. For a team that finished 21 games back last year they sure haven't done much to drastically upgrade and make up those games.

aww come on, if you're gonna stick the bucs in last, at least do us the courtesy of spelling the city somewhat correctly. i'm gonna go out on a limb and say they finish ahead of the reds, brewers, and cubs:

                          cards
                          astros

I love the optimism, but I don't think we'll make 3rd place unless we really perform well and a few others fall off fast.

However, a lot of people I think are underestimating the Pirates. Then again, I guess not many know about Zack Duke, Paul Maholm and company...
