One Week Away...
Anyone else find it unreal that next week America's Favorite Pastime will be back? It seems like it came so fast, now this week is going to take forever. I am so pumped to get this season started.Yankees

Re: One Week Away...
Opening Day should be a national holiday..there is nothing like turning on the TV & just watching baseball non-stop for a day.. plus those lucky enough to go in person...enjoy!! Baseball is the perfect "seasonal" sport -- the "spring" rebirth goes till the leaves & cold of "autumm" set in..

Raising the championship banner at 'the Cell' will be a joyous thing to watch. Starting the defense of the title will be even better.
College basketball has been outstanding this year BUT I can't wait till my White Sox take the field as the 'Defending World Champs'I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. As a Cub fan....I'm apathetic. The only games that matter to me are the simulated ones that my pitchers throw. Reading the injury report, the marketing director gushing over ticket sales and how wonderful the park is, the manager and players blaming media, umps, fans, for losing. I'm not too anxious to watch the same bad movie over and over again.PSN: JISTIC_OS

This is the most legit excitement i've had for the Jays since the spring of '99. Too bad Tim Johnson was a freaking liar as he really had that team playing well. Instead we're graced with the sour disposition of Jim Fregosi who all the players HATED.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

The thing that impressed me about the Cubs this off-season is that they shored up their more important issues with quality players. They got the lead off hitter they needed in Juan Pierre and shored up their most weakest position last year in the bullpen in Howry and Erye(sp?). What more can you ask for?
Now are there negatives? Of course. EVERY TEAM HAS AT LEAST ONE GOING INTO THE SEASON. But if the Cubs can get Wood and Prior back before mid-May, stay above water until then and have no significant injuries then they can win the Wild Card. And I stress significant injuries because every teams goes through their share of injuries, even the winning teams. BUT either they have someone to replace them for the spell of the injury or the injury is not that long and they can water above their division until that key player comes back. Scott Posednik was gone from the White Sox line up for a while during the dog days of the season BUT because he wasn't gone for months AND we had a 9 game lead we were able to maintain. Now if Scott was gone from us for the rest of the year there is no way we win the World Series.
I'm predicting the Cubs make the playoffs as the Wild Card. You heard it here first. And this coming from a White Sox fan.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: One Week Away...
These off-seasons seem to be getting shorter and shorter.
And I thought last years post WS off-season for the RS went by fast, this one seemed to go by even quicker.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. We’re talking about on the biggest stage, in New York, playing out of position and asked to hit fourth for the New York Yankees. I mean, that’s never been done.” - Sheffield on SheffieldComment

Can't wait, especially after UConn just crashed and burned big time.
