Getting tickets for a Red Sox game

Just found out I'm going to CT for work in June so I'm going to make a stop in Boston to go to a game. I checked their website and sold out (which I figured). Was talking to someone at work today in RI and he said tickets are $90 for standing room only from scalpers...is that true? I'm looking at either the last Sunday in June or the Thursday of that week. Can't remember who they're playing but it wasn't anyone big.

Anyone have suggestions for good places to get tickets for Red Sox? I'm from Chicago and they have a ton of scalpers at Wrigley...is it like that at Fenway? Cheaper to buy earlier or buy from scalpers?

They do have a ton of scalpers so you won't have problems getting tickets, but be prepared to pay. You'd probably have better luck at the Thursday game than a weekend game.

If I were you, I'd check out www.stubhub.com or something like that before going though, just so you know what you're getting and you won't have to deal with scalpers if they decide to raise their prices.

The Red Sox don't sell tickets through them.

Stubhub.com is definately the way to go.

Standing room tickets are not as outrageous as 90 dollars (unless they're standing room for the Monster or a Yankees game). Definitly try for a weekday game as you can get a ticket for a decent price (as far as Sox games go). You can also try their ticket office during the day as they always hold some tickets for walk-up on gameday (I had Monster seats two summers ago and a guy I talked to was in your situation and just walked up to the ticket booth when it opened and got a seat for the Monster), but get there early. If you want to make sure you see a game at Fenway, then stubhub or ebay is probably your safest bet. You'll pay a steep price but if you've never been and you're a baseball fan you might as well do it once.
