Statline of the first 2 games....

    Goes to Prince Fielder.

    0-8, 7 strikeouts, 1 groundout.

I only saw the first game where he went 0-4 with 4K's, but he wasn't even close. Just flailing away at everything and anything.

I'm actually more surprised than anything. I think he probably just needs time to adjust.

He's swung through some hittable pitches this time around. Santos got away with some fat pitches.

Hopefully he doesn't keep it up.

I have him on one of my fantasy teams.

Yeah I hope so we got rid of a .300 hitter to invest in our future. He has shown a good glove so far even though he is on pace to shatter the strikeout record.

Relax. Small sample size. His body of work in a full season portends great success. He should be good. When you count up his stats at the end of the season, a ****ty 2 games makes no difference if it is in the first two days of the season, or in the middle of August.

He proved last year that he can hit in the major league level.

He'll be fine. Everyone has their slumps. Prince is having his in the first two or so games.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Didn't he miss a portion of ST too? For the birth of his son/daughter?
