    Cubs vs Cards series

Since the Mod's made us move BOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I like that rookie Shawn Marshal. How tall is that guy. He looks like he is about 6-10. He is going to win 20 games for the Cubs someday. He is way better than Rich Hill. Has a nasty curve too. I sure wish the Cards would have used Looper in the 8th. TLR has been trying to get his confidence back. He pitched very well Friday. He would have been a much better choice than IZZY. You pay a set up man that much money in the offseason, you mind as well use him for that role.

Its only April, I am not worried. Come the All-Star break the Cards will have the Central all but won.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Our bullpen looks terrible. Looper and Izzy tried to blow it again today.

I agree, the bullpen looks to be a work in progress. Throwing strikes seems to be a bit of a challenge for these guys tight now. I'm already missing The Goblin (Tavarez) and "Burger" King.

Sean Marshall may win 20 games but his ERA and BB/K ratio will never be anything special. Last year he had 4 starts in AA at the age of 30 and before that he wasn't anything special at A. He's talented and tall but his career speak for itself.

I don't know. He only throws about 88 and would have to become a REALLY good "pitcher".

The thing that gets me is we have the 3rd highest ticket prices in baseball. Yet we only spend 90 mill. I think Dimwitt I mean dewitt is pocketing all that money. Pujols is still young but Edmonds and Rolen are ageing and so is Carp. The time is now to win a W/S. He needs to spend now, or we are not going to win.

I don't think the Cards are a lock to win anything and I didn't think that coming into the season. The Cubs are a pretty good team, if they perform the way they are capable they should contend for the Central crown. The Cubs seem to find a way to under achieve though so who knows?

                      Re: Cubs vs Cards series

The problem with the Cubs is that they beat up on us every year and that seems to be the only series they get excited for.

Other than that, they're always hurt and/or don't care.

Oh well, let them beat up on the Cards, because everyone else in the division beats up on them.

Oh you mean like they don't care about giving up 2 HR to Bronson Arroyo this year :y4:. Or losing 9-2 to Cincy. Not a very good rebound from killin us over the weekend.
