Baseball Tonight Hosts: Repeat after me...

    The
    Yankees
    Haven't
    Won
    The
    World
    Series
    Since
    2000

Jeez, I wish these guys would get off the Yanks collective jocks until they actually deserve it.

    (okay, I feel better)

    Hello, Newman...

And yes they do need to get off the Yanks jock.

what's new. they're like this at the beginning of every year. it's like how Notre Dame kept getting ranked in the preseason top 25 during the 90s even though most times they didn't belong there.

Why would the be talking bout the Yanks when the Jays bust their butts last night?

Not to get too far off of topic, but about a few night ago they had a question who is the best LHP in baseball.......

          Harold Reynolds: Randy Johnson
          John Kruk: Johan Santana
[drum roll please] Steve Phillips: Cliff Lee[rim shot]
Harold Reynolds responded by saying Cliff isn't even the best LHP on his team let alone all of major league baseball.

Then they discussed the World Baseball Classic and Phillips went on and on about how it helped the pitchers to be throwing at full speed so early in the year. Harold Reynolds preceded to poke fun at his ignorance the rest of the show.

I think of all the people over all the year Baseball Tonight has been on TV that Steve Phillips is by far and away the biggest moron to ever be on the show. I won't even mention the incredible corny bits with him pretending to be the GM of different teams and holding press conferences.......LAME!!!

I would also like to point out to HR that it is merely April 19th. The Braves aren't quite out of it yet, buddy.

Jason Stark was even saying that he doesn't think the Braves have it this year. I think we've all heard this before though...

it's ok, all the fans can take victories on April 19th, while the Yankees will be making the postseason and the Blue Jays will not

We will see, but the fact (as was pointed out on BT last night) that the Yanks haven't won a game in which they've scored less than 9 runs doesn't speak well for your pitching.

I can't stand that guy at all, and the same goes for Peter Brady. ESPN really needs to clean house and get some new commentators.

I saw this and to be fair the reason he picked Lee is because they didn't want to all pick the same guy which would be obvious. So Harold went with Randy and Phillips went with Lee.

Their are still better LHP to choose from. Isn't Willis LH?

I think the question was best lefty in the AL, not in baseball, which is why he picked Lee. Phillips always does that, picks someone way out of left-field for everything just to be different, but mostly he just ends up looking stupid.
