The guy goes out and gets another stick (Durazo) to put in the middle of that A's lineup, while the ownership gives him a tight budget. How does this guy do it? I thought Towers in San Diego was a witch, but I've changed my mind. Beane just keeps adding pieces to the puzzle, just hope they can get over the hump and win a Series now.

walt jocketty for the cardinals has also made some just unbelievable moves..
i wish i could figure out how these guys do it.. i wonder if it is just some sort of personal magnetism or they just now how to negotiate or they just know the right talent to find.

It looks like Beane has wanted Durazo for awhile now. With Durazo in that lineup, if healthy, its gonna be crazy. The guy could put up some amazing numbers if he can get 500 ab's.

I'm actually kind of disappointed in that move. Basically for his wheeling and dealing he's given up pena and a pitching prospect (to the tigers) and gotten durazo (for two prospects he got from the yankees in the pena/lilly/weaver deal) and lilly. Not sure about those moves. Pena could have been just as good without the injury risk that durazo is. And lilly's an injury rist as well. But he obviously knows what he's doing. Just not sure this recent rash of deals proves he's a "genius" like other deals might.
