Byrd is OVERRATED! We had him here in Philly for a couple of years and his engine ran out of gas around July 4th every year.

Byrd's a nice story, I admit it. A guy with mediocre stuff who's won some games. As a pitcher who could make a difference though, I don't see it.

I'm seeing a really wild rumor on the ESPN message boards. People are saying that 610 radio is talking about a deal sending Javy and Giles to the Cardinals for Tino Martinez, and then the Braves signing Pudge as early as tomorrow. Don't really know what to make of that, nor do I know the validity of it.

Overachievers? Are you sure that's the word you meant? If you're saying that they're underachievers, they're one of the most successful underachievers of all-time. I'd rather have an underachieving team that has made the playoffs for 11 straight years than a team that finishes out of the playoffs every year. The best team doesn't always win a short playoff series.

Maddux is a #1 on any team and hopefully Millwood will be a solid #2 and the others good #3's

Kurkjian just said that he expects Maddux to accept arbitration......but we wont be able to afford all 5 later on therefore making us trade Maddux or Millwood, he said prolly Millwood, since he'd get more for us...
