It doesn't matter how bad or good the umpire was, you can't do that. Anything less than a month's suspension is a joke. I personally think he should get no less than 60 days. It's a shame, because he's a true talent, but he needs to be taught a lesson.

This shouldn't have even happened, Delmon should have been with the D-Rays since opening day, so technically you could blame their stupidity for this incident, but it was a really stupid thing to do. Even if it was one of those heat of the moment things, you have to control yourself.

according to the ESPN article it was his second incident with an umpire in the minors... dude needs to get his temper under control.

apparently it wasn't meant to hurt the umpire but to show him up... Although it should be noted he did intend to hit the ump with the bat.

Just saw the clip on PTI (looks like Wilbon taped it off his TV with a vdieo camera) and this was no soft litle fling rom 3 feet away. He literealy flung taht thing hard from 10 feet away. If it caught the ump in the face his nose wouldve been broken.

A year should be what he is suspeded for and also should take anger management. Good job Delmon you just locked yourself in AAA,for at least the rest of this year. If I were the Devil Rays I wouldnt bring him to the show until i know for sure that this kind of stuff won't happen again.
