Re: Matsui Fractures Wrist
Originally posted by MisfitAs reported during the Red Sox/Yankees game on NESN. Matsui will have surgery on Friday, and he's going to be out for awhile. No time-table set for his return but its likely going to be months. -

Given the choice between Matsui and Carlos Lee in my fantasy league, I chose Matsui because he never misses games.
Yeah, that has worked out really well so far.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

My teams are falling apart right in front of my eyes.

Re: Matsui Fractures Wrist
Matsui's injury looked similar to the wrist injury Ken Griffey Jr. suffered back in 1995 (of course instead of hitting the wall Matsui came down really hard on the ground). If thats the case than best case scenerio is 3 months.
Looks like it's time for Cashman to start working the phones.Comment

Re: Matsui Fractures Wrist
Sucks to see this happen to any ballplayer. Wrist injuries are pretty serious. This could potentially be an injury that tips the scales in the AL East with the 3 team dogfight that appears to be going on.Comment

Re: Matsui Fractures Wrist
Hopefully the guy can bounce back, but its unlikely he'll be the same old Matsui when he returns in August/September. Remeber how Nomar looked when he missed most of the 2001 season with a broken wrist? For a hitter, its definitly one of the worst injuries one can have.Comment

Also, ESPN reported this is the first position-player injury that the Yanks have had that's been more than two weeks since Tim Raines in 1996. However, that's BS because of Jeter's shoulder injury in Toronto."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
