I know I'll sound like a homer to pick Jack Wilson at SS, but watching him over the last few years has been amazing. Right now, there's no one better at SS IMO (despite Jack not having as great of a year in the field this year).

C - Mike Matheny (the best at blocking balls I've seen, pitchers rave about his game calling as well)
1B - Derrick Lee
2B - Orlando Hudson (like someone else said...not even close)
SS - Adam Everett (Vizquel is better in his prime, but this guy does it better than anyone today without all the flash)
3B - Ryan Zimmerman (Rolen's the obvious choice, but this kid is unreal at his age)
OF - Torii Hunter, Andruw Jones, Ichiro (Aaron Rowand just misses, I just can't exclude Andruw even if he's lost a step)

Surprised no one has mentioned Joe Crede at 3B. Not trying to be a homer BUT if any of you guys catch White Sox games this guy can glove with the best of them at 3B.

Here are mines:

P - Greg Maddux: Still can glove it for a player his age.
C - Ivan Rodriguez: Still the most complete cather in baseball.
1B - Derek Lee: Length and range give him a big advantage.
2B - Luis Castillo: Speed guy with great lateral quickness.
SS - Derek Jeter: Positioning is his key strength.
3B - Joe Crede: Prevented many doubles for the White Sox.
OF - Torii Hunter: Hate the guy, love his defense.
OF - Ichiro Suzuki: A center fielder playing RF.
OF - Andrew Jones: Great closing speed.

If you homer out for the Phils, I'd put Rollins at SS. He's been outstanding this year, but I'd still give the nod to Vizquel.

The things Vizquel does amazes me. I can't believe what he can do at age 38.
Pedro F. is very solid too.
But I give the edge to Eric C.

I will second these picks, In know way I think Vizquel is better theh Jeter. Vizquel is great but Jeter makes some of the most amazing plays I ever saw, and those play are always in big spots which matter the Most.

What!! You have to be kidding Jeter can't even hold Vizquel jock strap. Sure Jeter is very good, but Vizquel is 38 and he is still making incredible plays every game just like Jeter. And in his prime their was no one even close!

Guy only makes incredible plays since he makes bad jumps and has to dive for everything. On most of his amazing diving plays most SS would've been able to get to the ball w.o a dive and have made it look routine. Just because most of his plays look incredible rather than routine it doesn't make him good.
