Lastings Milledge called up; Nady inj

Supposedly Nady is out 3-4 weeks and Milledge will play there. No link yet but it was reported on WFAN.

EDIT: Here is a link I found, http://www.sny.tv/index.jsp

Damn, I hope Nady gets back soon. Is Milledge suppose to start tonight?

Yes. It will be interesting to see how he does in the big show and if the hype is true.

Kinda a strange time to call him up, Willie said the other day that Nady would see more days off so maybe the Mets don't have that much faith in Nady afterall because they wouldn't be calling up their top prospect for a couple of weeks just to fill in for Nady, they would have just used Endy Chavez like they did when Beltran was hurt. I think the Mets are banking that Milledge is ready and he will be here to stay for the rest of the year. Then they can trade Nady when he returns for pitching or a 2nd baseman.

I'll probably catch his at bats on mlb.tv to see how he does...he's got some sick talent if he puts it all together.

The official reason for Nady going on the DL is he had appendectomy as a result he will miss at least 3-4 weeks. Calling up Milledge is no surprise, the Mets may be showcasing Milledge so other teams can see what he can do at the big league level since it is likely if the Mets try and acquire a big name pitcher at some point (Willis?, Zito?) Milledge will likely have to be part of the deal.
