Huh, A-Rod? Where were they then? You sicken me, that's what you do, A-Rod. You sicken me.

    lol How true.

If A-Rod was playing for the Red Sox, Cubs, Cardinals etc, he'd be considered the second comming.

      Uhhhhh... Doubtful.

Derek Jeter gets his ballswashed to the outer reaches of the galaxy. ARod is judged a little harsher than most players in NY, but at the same time it's somewhat warranted.

He's signed the biggest contract in baseball history, was able to get out of the sinking ship that was the Texas Rangers, move on to the Yankees. Basically having his cake and eating it too.

Let me know when he does anything meaningful in the playoffs.

ARod wanted to take a pay cut to play for the Red Sox. Why do they hate him so much?

That's true. I personally was never doing backflips over the deal (yeah I know, hindsight blah blah blah).

I just dislike him period. I'll give him credit for willing to defer money on his contract to play for a contender, not many guys would do that.

I think a reason a lot of Red Sox fans hate ARod is because he was basically the posterboy for what the Yankees had been doing to the Sox for quite a while. They swooped in and were able to net him when the Sox weren't. That's a big reason for my hatred for him, misguided or not.

He also seems like a pompous, self obsessed *** too.

                A-Rod:

                Career Playoffs:

                .305/.927 BA/OPS

                Papi:

                .301/.935 BA/OPS

Pretty similar to what everyone considers the best postseason player.

We should check out how Arod has done in CLUTCH situations.

Theres no stat for clutch unless you wanna go with close and late situations which is very flawed. Basically in the close and late stat, if your teams down by 5 in the 9th inning and you hit a Grand Slam and eventually your team wins... you get no credit for it.

And if your teams down 3 in the 7th inning and you strike out, then you get credit for striking out.

What do you consider a clutch situation?

I think a better stat to look at would be average with RISP

                          This year:
                          With RISP: .311/.442/.607
With RISP and 2 outs: .321/.486/.643

                          Last year:
                          .290/.410/.484
                          .302/.429/.512

Last year his numbers dropped a little in those situations, but they were still pretty good.

This year his numbers with RISP are much better than his overall numbers.

These are regular season, I couldn't find the playoff stats.

There's no point in breaking down stats, if you actually watch baseball there is no doubt that Ortiz is a more clutch player than A-Rod.

I don't know if this was directed towards me, but I was just looking at A-Rod's stats by themself. I wasn't comparing them to anybody.
