    Oh man....that's kind of funny.

At least if the AL loses, maybe people will realize it's not all about the Sox/Yanks...

    okay, maybe not.

Meh....Looks like I won't be watching this year's All Star game unless Rios gets picked by Ozzie Guillen.

Oye vi..... Even if I can get tickets, I might boycott the thing!!

I read in the local paper that Jason Bay is #14 in the NL Outfield. No respect I tell ya!! Name me 14 outfielders in all of baseball better than him. I figured he'd be a managers choice, but thought maybe he'd get enough votes for top 5.

Yeah really, he should be right there starting. IMO, the NL starters in the OF should be, Andruw Jones, Jason Bay, and Carlos Lee. Berkman wouldn't be a bad pick either. It just sucks that the fans vote for who the starters are because some fans are uninformed.

I hate the fan vote. Baseball is the worst in this regard too. Most other sports whoever the fans vote for are actually the ones, for the most, that deserve it.

Baseball is pretty much based solely on name and what big market team you play for.

The only thing I will watch is going to be the HR Derby and the other stuff, but I will skip the All-Star Game.

I think it needs to be the other way around. Let the players/writers/managers pick the starters based on actual performance and let the fans fill out the rest of the lineup with popular names.

Agreed.... the managers and players know everyone better than we do.

I agree except for the writers part. I think you're giving them too much credit. Sometimes they're less knowledgeable than some hardcore fans IMO.

Miggy not starting at short is a joke. Cano starting at 2nd is a joke. Varitek over Ramon Hernadez or Victor Martinez is also a joke. I mean, this is getting ridiculous. It's sad that only 1 player in the starting lineup isn't a Red Sox or Yankee player.

Miguel not starting isn't really a joke, Jeter has been in the top 3 for batting average all year so it's really a toss-up right now.

It's May people, most of the fans haven't even started voting yet. Wait until July before you get outraged.
