    Awful, just awful.
Yeah his control was shaky and his velocity was down, I guess we'll see if thats just because he hasn't started at the major league level for a while now or if its something more.

He got beat up in his last rehab start at AAA. Shaky has a rough first inning then settles down. Mulder was absolutely horrible from the first pitch until the last one. His pitches had absolutely nothing on them, and he was lucky the Mets only scored 9. This isn't jitters. If he was hurt, then he is still hurt. Bringing back players before they are ready is nothing new for the Cards (Rolen last year). If he isn't hurt then he just can't pitch.

I think he needs surgery, but they just need to have SOMEONE pitch for them.

I think after another 2 starts Mulder still stinks, they need to put him back on the DL and let Wainwright atleast show what he can possibly do as a starter. If Mulder needs surgery, make him have surgery. The Cardinals will not go anywhere in the postseason, or even make it to the postseason, if the pitching continues to struggle every night that Carpenter isn't out there.

I wouldn't say forever, but definately for the year. But you know what, he's hurt and has no business pitching right now. It's not his fault he's getting thrown out there. Everyone knows he's not well. Heck, he gave up all kinds of runs on rehab assignments at AAA and AA. But, of course, he had to be brought up to face the Mets, for crying out loud.

Anyway, he's still got a future (he's only like 28) but this year he should be shut down.
