    Brad Lidge implodes again...

Gotta feel for the guy. He just gave up a game tying grand slam in the 9th tonight to the White Sox.

Screw you Lidge. That costed me Oswalt's win in my fantasy matchup.

As a Tigers fan, I'm going to PUKE!

9-1 headed into the bottom of the 7th, and they lose it?! ****.

On another note about tonight's game, how many freaking times is Jon Miller going to call Ozzie Guillen Ozzie SMITH?

Yeah that was brutal. Joe Morgan even said it once as well and then replied, " See John, you've got me doing the same thing." Comical.

            Lidge should just retire.

That's a bit extreme for a guy with 19 saves and 8 saves between blown ones, still throws bb's and has many useful innings ahead. Take away his 3 worst outings (April 24 vs. the Dodgers, May 24th vs. Nats, and last night), he's got 1 less blown save but a 2.86 ERA. He definitely has to get his control down, but he's still a quality pitcher.

                I know, I know...I was exaggerating, and being half-sarcastic.

Let's just hope his career doesn't go the way of Byung-Hyung Kim.

Again, you're taking a small fraction of his outings and pigeonholeing him into some terrible player. Look at his stats. He was terrible with Boston, no one doubts that. But let's look at his career. His ERA went down from 4.61 (not awful) to 2.04 (going 36/6 in save opportunities that year) his first 4 years in Arizona. He was absolute crap in the World Series and thank god the Dbacks won that year. He started 7 games in 2003 with Arizona and was 1-5 but had a 3.56 ERA (suggest no run support). He then gets traded to Boston and has a 3.18 ERA in about 80 innings pitched. Not too shabby. The following year, he was awful, no doubt. Then the last 2 years, he's been in the pitcher's hell called Colorado and posts a 4.87 ERA then this year has a 4.31 ERA. Is he a superstar? Hardly. Is he some washed up burnout? Hardly.

One World Series screwup? He blew it in the NLCS, he blew it in the World Series, and he's been very shaky all year. He looks nothing like he did last year at this time. The Astros can blame it on mechanics all they want, it's obvious he's been shaken mentally.

I'm speaking more of mentally. I mean, I'm no Astros fan or Arizona/Colorado fan (in Kim's case)....but I just think closers have to have a strong mental health when it comes to games, and I just hope Lidge doesn't lose his mental composure, because it'd be a waste of his talents.
