The Braves will make the playoffs this year

I truly believe it now. We went through a terrible losing streak and have finally come out of it. 9 back of the WC and way out in the division. There are 9 teams ahead of us right now in the WC chase.

The only teams that worry me ahead of the Braves are the Astros and Dodgers. Those are the two teams that I believe will be there till the end. Florida can hang with them also but not for long. The Phillies are in shambles, kind of going through a Braves like stretch. I don't believe Cincy and the Rockies can keep up their good play.

Everything will play out as the months pass by but I truly believe the Braves can win this WC. Chuck James and Horacio Ramirez have carried the rotation lately but we will need Smoltz and Hudson to pitch like they can right away to have any shot. The bullpen is starting to get their act together and the young guys are pitching well. Sosa has been decent, if not great except the Yankee game, closing. With all that said though, we need Giles to set the table and start getting on base.

At the end of the day, we need to start winning games and start winning series'. We almost took the Yankees series but took the O's series. Let's hope we can take 2 out of 3 from STL and put a beating on Cin. The season is far from over and let's not forget it is a marathon.

No SPTO...What if it actually does happen... You don't want to actually have to leave... I don't think anyone would know what to do.

I actually can see that happening. I am not a Braves fan, but if you look at the team, everything that could go wrong has. IF people play to expectations and the bullpen keeps going, they could make a run for the WC. No team really stands out. Huddy is due to go on a run and Smoltz is a warrior. I would like to see if any deals are in the works. If they get bullpen help or another good starter, they could be dangerous.

Yeah i'd probably lose my hair throughout the month but I made a thread a bit ago saying that the Braves are done so i'm going to stick to my word. It's not like i'm going to ask the mods to lock me out for the month. I'll just have to have willpower.

Looking at their second half schedule, I actually think they have a pretty good shot at the Wild Card. Obviously, they won't have much room for error but I think if Smoltzie and Huddy can get back to a level which they're known for, and Chuck James continues to pitch like he is, then they'll be fine.

Not with as bad as the National League has been this year.
