Unfortunately, it's not just an All-Star game anymore now that HFA in the World Series is on the line.

Deciding HFA for the world series in the all star game is stupid it should be interleague play.....The allstar game is just an exhibition and i bet some of the players for the teams that wont make the playoffs dont play as hard.

Can't you guys see what Ozzie's doing. He's making a case for future free agents to come play for him. Ozzie is a players manager. He takes so much pressure off his players by drawing attention to himself. All the negatives that's talked about this team by the media is not about the players performance BUT about Ozzie Gullien's big mouth. The media doesn't talk about the mediocre season Scott Podsednik is having. Nor the huge ERA's of Garland and Vazquez. Nor the bullpen's problems. Nor Juan Uribe's sub .200 batting average in April and May. And with the media pressure not on these guys you've noticed in the last month that all of these guys(with probably the exception of Podsednik) all starting to turn it on.

Baseball players love to play for a guy like Ozzie.Almost all these players have clauses in their contract's about if they make the all-star game then they get a huge bonus from the team. If your a free agent who could make a big pay day if you made it to the all star game, why not play for a guy who's going to stick up for you and help you with that big payday?

Could I've named more guys who are more deserving than Joe Crede? Without a doubt. BUT it isn't like Crede himself doesn't deserve to be there. Mark Redman(5.00+ ERA) doesn't deserve to be there.

Call Ozzie: Crazy, Idiot, Insane. BUT call him a genius on this move. When Joe Crede's contract is up and Ozzie is still managing the team...guess where his number #1 team is? That team on Chicago's South Side...the best side!

Mark Redman was chosen to go to the All-Star game because know one in Kansas City is good enough to go.

Most of the time the player is going to end up going for more money over their loyalty to a team. And I think it's more of the players starting to come around rather then Ozzie taking the pressure off of them. example: Alex Gonazlez was batting under .200 at the beggining of the season and people were walking about him a little bit, but over the past month he is probably hitting in the .300 to .400 range.

And not every manager picks all of his players. Last year Francon didn't go crazy picking every player on the Red Sox like Ozzie is for the White Sox.

I wonder if Ozzie will have any of the AL pitchers throw at a NL guy to set the tone?

I can't wait till Ozzie gets his... next time he starts a beam brawl I want to see someone go after that chicken ****... that would make for some good tv... And finally the world would be rid of Ozzie Guillen.

As the north side will show, all this "he's a players manager" "he just covers for his players.." all that....total BS and only works when the team is winning, notice how Dusty's covering for his players ran thin REALLY quick when they lost game after game after game. So, as soon as the Sox have some losing areas, or hell, if they don't catch Detroit this year and have a close wildcard race, people might not think so highly of it.

Guillen had said two weeks ago that Contreras likely would be the AL starter, but with the right-hander now scheduled to start on the Sunday before the All-Star Game, Guillen already was coming up with a Plan B. Though Guillen wouldn't confirm it, Detroit Tigers left-hander Kenny Rogers is thought to be the front-runner.

How did this man win a World Series?

He had offers from LAA and BALT. Rumors were that LAA was slightly higher than the CWS offer and BALT was 5 MIL total more. He chose the White Sox because frankly, both the other teams aren't good and the White Sox had the best chance to make the playoffs.

At least that's the way I see it. When dealing with that type of money, I'd go to the better team as well. That is unless the difference in money was very substantial (5 MIL isn't substantial).

There also might've been something in the wording for the other 2 contracts that turned off Konerko. I've heard from numerous sources that O's Owner Peter Angelos puts a ton of clauses into contracts and players are hesitant to sign due to some of them.
