Not sure if I'd call Huff a "middle of the order" hitter. He's only gone over 30 HRs once in his career and is on pace to hit around 20 this year. Granted he's a great second half player who has been raking since his slow start, but I'm kinda surprised the Astros didn't target a player with a little more pop.

If Huff can keep hitting the way he has the last month and a half, he will be a nice boost to the Stros offense. I'm not feeling great about the return, but Huff is only a rent a player so Friedman probably understands better than Lamar you can't ask for the moon in every trade. Hopefully this means Young or Dukes is called up to take the roster spot and be in the lineup.

Rotoworld's saying Huff will cut into Ensberg's playing time. Benching a .890 ops, 19 homer 3rd baseman on a bad offensive team? Right...

They were better off getting someone who can actually catch.

I heard that Houston would start Huff in the OF, more specifically CF which seems like a real bad idea for a guy with injury concerns every year and is about as slow footed as they come in the OF and now you want him to climb that hill if need be, sounds like a bad idea is this is the case.

                    what about taveras in CF?
                    Carolina Panthers

                    Wake Forest

                    ATL Braves

It all started back in '99 when time was hard, North Carolina Central but we called it the yard...

Yeah, no way Huff plays CF. I would more expect a cut into Preston Wilson's playing time. Taveras and Chris Burke will be the only guys that play CF. Berkman would play center before Huff. I could also see Berkman moving back to the OF and Huff going to 1B.

Interesting note coming from the Rays GM this morning is that they are finally moving Upton to 3B and Upton is cool with it after crying about the possibility of switching positions like he has the last few years. Finally coming to his senses that this is his ticket to the majors because he has the bat, but makes too many errors for a call up as a SS.

Huff usually played RF for the Rays when in the OF (obviously because of Crawford being in Left), so he'll probably play there for Houston if Ensberg is at 3rd.
