    Chipper Jones ties record

14 straight games with an extra base hit, the longest streak since Pittsburgh's Paul Waner in 1927

....and to think there's a Braves fan on here who thinks Chippah is all washed up and should be traded.

I don't think there is a hotter hitter in baseball right now than Chipper

Since June 24, he's lifted his average from .270 to .329, gone on a 16 game hitting streak, and increased his slugging % over a 100 points to .559

Yep Chipper is just flat out on fire right now. Not a coincidence that the Braves started playing much better at the same time he did.

Well, he IS the heart and soul of the Braves, even if he's not our "best" player anymore....

This is why you don't trade him.(BGarret) Hopefully he can stay healthy though. That's been his problem last 3 years or so, getting nagging injs.

For the record, I never said Chipper was washed up or incapable of producing, I even pointed out he was very capable of being productive. What I did say was he was injury-prone to the point of being a liability.

You also said Marcus Giles was better than him.

                    Marcus, Giles.

If Chipper keeps up hitting like he should and stays healthy the Braves honestly are gonna make a great fight for the Wildcard
