I don't understand this thing. I saw a team by team list and some of them were terrible.

I never saw Walter Johnson or Christy Mathewson on any list (not to mention many others). I think Johnson would go on the Twins list as he played for the Nationals and that team was relocated to Minnesota. Mathewson would be on the Giants as he played on the New York Giants.

How come they exclude canadians from this contest when um...One team is currently playing in Canada and the other's history is still mostly in another.

      Stupid Americans.

Damn, this Orioles vote is hard. I can't decide between Frank, Brooks, Palmer, Murray, or Cal.

I think MLB needs to reaccess their defintion of "hometown heroes." When I think of the Braves and hometown, I certainly don't think of any of those nominees.

                  Personally i'd go with Stieb.

I think most people who are over the age of 30 think of Dale Murphy when it comes to the ATLANTA Braves. Murphy did so much for the community along with the team that he was the symbol of Atlanta for many years. Whenever he makes an appearance at a Braves game today he gets huge cheers. Also, I think of Chipper Jones and especially John Smoltz for what they have meant to the team and the community. I can live with Phil Niekro as a choice, but I very easily could replace Niekro with Tom Glavine. I don't mind Hank Aaron being on the list because he did play for the Braves for around 10 years in Atlanta plus has worked in the front office and done plenty in the community. The worse one on the list for the Braves though is Warren Spahn. Spahn was a great pitcher and everything, but how can he be a hometown hero for the Atlanta Braves when he never pitched a game in Atlanta.
