Andy Marte - 3B - Indians


Indians recalled third baseman Andy Marte from Triple-A Buffalo.
Aaron Boone is still around, but the Indians aren't calling up Marte to sit. He should get most of the starts at third base for now, and he'll probably become a true regular after Boone is traded or released. The 22-year-old was hitting .261/.322/.451 with 15 homers for Buffalo, with most of the production coming since the beginning of June. He's probably not going to be an asset in mixed leagues right away, but he's worth using in AL-only leagues. Jul. 28 - 1:48 pm et

Nice I'm excited to see what the Red Sox traded away. Coco has had a tough year, but I still think it was the right move at the time.

I'm interested to see what the Braves traded away. Ofcourse like the Crisp move, it was the right move to make as we needed a replacement for Furcal and Renteria has been spectacular but he was one of the most prized prospects in baseball. Hopefully he does well.

Huge Braves fan here. This is a day of mourning for me, even though the production we've gotten from Edgar this year tones it down some. Andy Marte has a chance to be great. Hopefully the Indians give him a real shot to succeed, not like what the Braves did to him last season.

And to dieselboy: Yes! He'll win the gold glove at 3B next season if he hits any at all.

He has 19 errors this year at AAA. I don't think a gold glove is in order for next year.

Probably just not comfortable. He was also hurt at the beginning of the year. He's as good as gold at 3B.

With guys like Chavez, Crede, and Lowell in the AL at third base, he has no shot at a gold glove next season.

Zimmerman had Rolen, and others in front of him and he'll probably get the gold glove this year... so what's your point?

Zimmerman wasn't coming off an 18+ error season. Marte is still raw. My point is he won't win the gold glove next year.

0fer, left 5 on base and made an error... it's ok though we still got the win... second straight complete game shutout for Jeremy Sowers!
